POHLMAN PURPOSE: To establish a policy for the issuance and display of badges. 1. ISSUANCE AND NUMBERING A. Officers of the Red Wing Police Department will be issued a numbered metal breast badge and an unnumbered metal cap badge bearing the officers rank. 1. The metal breast badge will be worn on the uniform shirt. 2. The metal cap badge will be worn on the KALE summer cap or winter fur pile cap. B. Administrative officers shall possess badges with numbers between 200 and 202. 2. WEARING OF BADGES A. Officers shall wear badges at all times while in uniform. The appropriate type of badge shall be affixed to all applicable uniform apparel. B. Plain clothes officers shall wear the metal breast badge affixed to a belt holder and worn on the plain clothes belt. 3. LOSSES OR DAMAGE A. Officers who lose a badge shall make a detailed written report describing the circumstances of the loss and forward it to their immediate supervisor. B.
